So I am doing a little research about how to improve my blog and about all the tools that I can add to my blog and I discovered Windows Live Writer. So far this program is pretty cool! I have to admit that I’ve got a great laptop and I know that it can do a lot of cool stuff, but I haven’t really explored many of the programs on here. Hopefully I will start to do so soon!
This blogger suggests using dedicated software to edit and publish your posts, and so far I have to agree with him! Windows Live Editor allows you to link with your blog, so that you can create posts, add in all the standard goodies like hyperlinks, pictures, videos, etc., but also lets you preview the post as you are typing it! I find that visual aspect very helpful. Furthermore, you can set it up so that it prompts you to add a tag to your post before it is published, if you are prone to forgetting, like me. I’m sure there are many other cool tools that WLE offers, and I hope to explore them so that I can get the most out of my blogging experience! I’m thinking that WLE can also be helpful if you have the urge to blog but are located in an area with limited or no wireless internet access.
Blogging is really about having your own space to explore ideas, express opinions, foster conversation, highlight plans, achieve goals, and contribute something positive to the online community. I have several blogging goals, and I think that WLE might be able to help me achieve them.
1. Learn the ins and outs of publishing, customizing, and designing blogs. Once I have mastered blogging I would really like to go on to learn more about coding and web page publishing on a professional level. I want to be able to customize!
2. Contribute to the online community by writing reviews, posting opinions, applying my critical thinking skills, and participating in discussions.
3. I would like to have subscribers, increase traffic to my blog, and play an active role in the blogging community.
As I discover other benefits to using Windows Live Editor I will share!
